The Sealco Commercial Vehicle 110500 - Valve, Spring Brake Priority is a vital component of your spring brake priority system. When your brakes fail, it creates an intense emergency situation. The spring brake priority system is your backup brake system, designed to prevent a disaster in an emergency. Your truck's air brakes work by building up air pressure and applying it to the brakes when there's a call for it. When the brake chamber is empty of air, the spring break priority is triggered. When air comes back into the chamber, the spring break priority releases.
When your spring brake priority is applied, it builds and releases pressure on a spring that eventually wears down the components of your spring brake priority system. The valves and other components of the spring brake priority take a lot of abuse because they release the spring brakes using supply line flow. A heavy coil spring then depresses and holds the brakes in their position. This immense amount of pressure building and releasing can cause the valve to break.
